| Summary |
A secret Khrushchev speech in 1956 that exposured Stalin’s cult of personality caused Chinese students to start questioning their own political system and Mao’s cult of personality. This resulted in a number of actions taken by Mao, like the Let A Hundred Flowers Bloom. Ultimately, the students were then labelled as rightists . Ms. Wu also gave personal stories on what she encountered when she went back to China last year to interview the student activists. |
