ANNOUNCING

2019 Teachers Workshop and Public Seminar

China on the Move

Workshop:  Friday-Saturday July 26-27, 2019 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PDT
San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE)
101 Twin Dolphin Drive, Redwood City, California

Seminar:   Friday-Saturday July 26-27, 2019 (Schedule to be published)

Since 2013, we have provided a two-day summer workshop on contemporary China for 6-12 grade teachers.  With the recent advancement in technology, we are happy to announce that the public will now be able to attend the “seminar” sessions of the workshop anywhere internet is available, via simulcast.

What’s the difference between attending the workshop and the simulcast?

Simulcast

With the simulcast,  you’ll be able to hear/view all the lectures given at the convenience of wherever you have internet access.

If you are interested in just attending some or all of the lectures via simulcast,  please provide your name and email address so we can notify you of the lecture schedule and link to the simulcast site.

Workshop

The workshop is a total two-day commitment.  You are at SMCOE from 8 to 5, and maybe later, for all two days of the workshop.  However, besides attending the lectures, you will have a chance to interact with the speakers directly. You will work with curriculum development experts (members of the California History and Social Science Group) on developing lesson plans, network with fellow educators, develop material that you can use in your classrooms, receive CEU from San Francisco State University, as well as receive a $200-$400 stipend.  (p.s. You also get free breakfast and lunch both days.)   Note that the Workshop is only open to 6-12 grade teacher currently currently teaching at a U.S. public or private school.
