Video Subject & Artist Statement (this may be publicly posted): The foundation to building a strong, lasting relationship between two nations is empathy. We must understand each other if we hope to work together cooperatively and collaboratively. The best way to develop empathy is through first-hand experience. Our proposed cultural exchange program does just that, giving students the opportunity to connect with a community in the opposite nation. These students will then work together to develop a solution to an issue in their community and present it to a group of policymakers. To fuel talks about this program, a Culture Cook-Off will be held. Leaders from both nations will prepare a traditional dish from the other nation\'s culture to present to a panel of celebrity judges. The hope is that this event alongside the cultural exchange program will help bring China and the United States together, building a more positive relationship between them.

The captivating illustrations in your video were a fun way to bring the focus of empathy to the forefront of this connection with China. I love the thought of eating Chinese and American food together with your counterparts from around the world!
